New Batting Cage at Memorial Park

April 7, 2024

Thanks to the hard work by our Director Doug Kinsey and the assistance of many parents and coaches, we now have a batting cage at Memorial Park! It made its debut on Opening Day and will include a pitching machine in the near future. Last year's Hit-a-Thon helped fund this long awaited addition to the Park.

MVAA Softball Trading Cards - Spring 2021

june 28, 2021

The Spring 2021 MVAA Softball cards have been distributed to almost all players. There were 102 individual cards created in the complete set (74 players, 28 coaches). Parents and players can purchase reprints for $5.00 and this money goes back to the program. We hope that everyone enjoys them and we plan on doing them again in the fall.

Fall 2020 Trading Cards

MVAA Fall Softball Trading Cards

November 17, 2020

We were happy to be able to make trading cards for 3 of our fall teams this season. With so much going on, it was great that we were able to play a season and and be able to get enough photos of the girls for cards. Hopefully, we will be able to make cards again in the Spring of 2021 for all teams!

MVAA Softball Trading Cards!

july 19, 2019

By now, hopefully every coach and player from the Spring Softball season has gotten their own personal MVAA Softball Trading Card. Many were given out at the end of season picnics and the remaining ones were mailed out afterwards. A lot of work went into making these cards for all 71 players and coaches and we hope everyone enjoyed them. The front photo of each card featured a game action shot of each girl in their batting stance and the back photo was a more personal profile picture. The back also included a short note written by their head coach. We hope to do the trading cards again next Spring. The plan is to do team posters in the fall due to the shorter season. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to these cards (especially my wife, who took most of the pictures!). And don't forget to smile for the camera!

New Uniforms for 2019!

April 5, 2019

In a continuing effort to better our MVAA softball program for our girls, we are very pleased to announce some new and exciting changes and additions to the uniforms this year! Probably the most exciting news is that we have decided to invest in a much nicer quality jersey for the girls this year and give them a new “fresh look”. In addition to the new jerseys, we will also be issuing each player a belt, a pair of socks and a hooded sweatshirt. The hoodies will have the logo and player’s number on them so they can be worn over their jersey on the chillier days.

Since we were switching manufactures for the jerseys, we decided to host a two-day fitting so the girls could try on the new style of jerseys to ensure a proper fit and the correct size would be ordered. We are very happy we made the decision to do the fitting, as we learned this style and cut of jersey was running about one size smaller than what the girls usually wear and were signed up for. We had a great turnout and thank you again parents for your flexibility with getting your daughters there on the rather short notice!

A lot of time and effort has been invested beginning with the design process all the way up to getting the order out for print. I would personally like to thank Sean from Middletown Sportsland for all of his time and assistance with this process and helping it come to fruition through the vendor.

In an effort to not have to raise the membership fees to account for the cost of the new jerseys and hoodies, our plan is for your daughter to continue to wear her jersey and hoodie into the next season; providing it still fits, is still in good condition and there isn’t a duplicate number issue when a girl moves up to the next age group. We also decided not to issue pants this year. This was done not only to help offset the costs for uniforms, but we’ve also found that many of the girls were not comfortable in the pants that could be issued, which left many of the girls going out to buy their own pair of pants that they liked anyway. The requirements for the pants is that they must be all black (no colored stripes on the sides) but if the pants logo is colored that’s fine, ¾ in length and have belt loops.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new jerseys which should be in before opening day! Your daughter’s coach will be in touch with you once they arrive to coordinate the issuance of the uniforms.

If you ever have any questions or issues in regards to your daughter’s uniform, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at mvaasoftball@gmail.com. Looking forward to another great season and GO LADY KNIGHTS!

Middletown Heritage Festival

April 5, 2019

The Middletown Heritage Festival will hold it's 35th annual celebration on September 28, 2019. The MVAA Softball teams will be participating in the Heritage Parade, which starts at 10am. The softball teams will set up somewhere on Green Street. Last year we set up near Woodmere Circle. The parade route will be on Green Street and end at Willow Street.

A float is usually decorated the night before by the softball teams. As the date gets closer more information will be provided.

Every year coaches and players enjoy walking, cheering and throwing candy to the crowds. Spectators end up with more candy than on Halloween Night! Come out and join us!

See festival photos!

New Shed!

March 1, 2022

You might not notice something lurking in the outfield behind the restrooms...it's our new shed! The new shed will replace the old one behind the backstop and house our tractor and all our field maintenance equipment. A welcome addition to Memorial Park, but there's more to come!

New Equipment Acquired

April 5, 2019

Every year someone provided their personal four wheeler for the coaches to drag and prepare Memorial Field for practices and games. This year it was decided that the MVAA Softball program will get its own tractor or four wheeler so not to rely on others to provide the equipment. A Cub Cadet LT1045 lawn tractor was bought and donated to the Softball program. The tractor was used to prepare the Memorial Field for 15U first outdoor practice on March 17, 2019. The tractor is a great addition to the Softball program.
